Dr Wang Yi is enthusiastic about public welfare. In May, 2008, Dr. Wang Yi and Time Art Museum actively cooperated with more than 20 realistic painters such as Ai Xuan, and others to create a huge oil painting "Hot Blood in May". All the auction proceeds of 33.5 million yuan were donated to the Wenchuan disaster area in Sichuan through the Ministry of Culture, which was used for the construction of the seriously damaged Qiang Museum, the construction of the Qiang cultural and ecological protection zone and the restoration of Mianzhu New Year Painting Museum, and was awarded by the Ministry of Culture.

Dr. Wang Yi is an active advocate and promoter of the credit system construction in China. He has written the Reader for Credit Knowledge Cadres and founded Jincheng International Credit Evaluation Co., Ltd., one of the three famous credit companies in China.

Dr. Wang Yi pays attention to corporate social responsibility. In 2004, as a representative of 15 entrepreneurs in China, he had a dialogue and exchange with UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan on corporate social responsibility.

In 2005, as a representative of entrepreneurs, Dr. Wang Yi accompanied President Hu Jintao to visit Europe.
