Brief introduction of Jia Nan's personality
Jia Nan from Campus Singer to Independent Musician

Jia Nan, born in Beijing in the mid-1970s, studied in Beijing No.2 Experimental Primary School and Beijing No.8 Middle School respectively. In junior high school, Jia Nan began to compose music and formed the first junior high school students' rock band in Beijing-Panda Band (1989).

While studying in Beijing University of Technology, Jia Nan wrote a lot of campus songs, which included infinite praise for youth, rebellion against youth and reflection on life. In his sophomore year (1993), Jia Nan was recommended by a friend to sign a contract with Wen Jing Records, became the first singer of Wen Jing Records Company, and published his first solo album "Birds Outside the Cage". With this album, Jia Nan also won many awards, such as Silver Award in the Second CCTV MTV Competition, New Singer in China in 1994, and Ten-year Achievement Award in Pop Music.

After graduating from school, Jia Nan did not embark on the music road. After working in IT industry and investment industry for many years, and studying for MBA at Newcastle University in England, Jia Nan returned to China to join CITIC Honglian 95 Information Industry Group, and experienced the great commercial success of two butterflies in the application of color ring tones and the impact of internet saliva songs on the music market.

Later, Jia Nan and his old friend Cui formed the "South River" group, which won the first place among the top ten newcomers of CCTV-3 in 2005, and also gave birth to the popularity of "Let Tears Turn into Acacia Rain".

After experiencing and witnessing the decline of rock music, the rise and fall of campus folk songs, the invasion of online songs and other market changes, Jia Nan did not agree with the current pop music culture, but did not give up his music dream. On the contrary, he strengthened his belief in being an independent musician.

Since 2006, Jia Nan and a group of talented underground musicians in Beijing, such as Xiao, Hou and Chang Hai, have jointly established an independent music organization called "Meng Tong Tianxia" and independently produced the second original solo album "Don't scream if it hurts".

Although there is no big investment in the album, there is no hype packaging and publicity, but the creative perspective of his life experience and the creative concept of never kitsch are doomed to make Jia Nan a leader among independent musicians in China, and it is also doomed to become one of the mainstream of high-level original music in China in the future.
