Spanish belongs to the West Romance family of the Romance family of Indo-European languages. According to the number of users of the first language, about 437 million people speak it as their mother tongue. The number of people who use Spanish accounts for 4.84% of the world population, and the total number of users of the first language and the second language is nearly 570 million. Mainly used in Spain and Latin America (except Brazil, Belize, French Guiana and Haiti).

Spanish is spoken in Spain, the United States, Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean, Colombia, Ecuador and Uruguay (Espa? ol)； In other areas, Spanish is mainly called Castilian. Spanish is one of the six working languages of the United Nations.

Spanish is one of the official languages of the African Union, the European Union and the United Nations. Countries that used Spanish as the official language in the 2nd/Kloc-0th century included Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Equatorial Guinea, Guatemala, Honduras and Mexico.

As well as Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Spain, Uruguay and Venezuela. Spanish is also spoken in the United States, Belize, Gibraltar, the Philippines, Puerto Rico, Trinidad and Tobago and Western Sahara.
