Evaluation:

Xiang Yu's bravery and his personality have been told by the Han people through the ages. Xiang Yu was strong-willed, even headstrong, and eventually ended in failure. But he would rather die than live up to his elders in Jiangdong and his tragic and beautiful love with Yu Ji, which is also a memorial for all generations and the exclusive owner of the word "overlord". There are many contents related to Xiang Yu in China traditional operas, such as Farewell My Concubine, a famous modern Beijing opera.

Because Xiang Yu committed suicide by the river, later generations honored him as one of the "narcissus kings", hoping that the spirit of Xiang Yu could protect the safety of fishermen and water transportation and trade.

Xiang Yu's story is well known to all women and children. Many literati wrote poems to express their regret or praise, all of which showed Xiang Yu's history in China and its influence on later generations. In the eyes of future generations, Xiang Yu's spirit has sublimated to the highest level, injecting vitality into the essence of the Chinese nation.
