Starting from 1958, Deng Jiaxian organized and led the research on the basic theories of detonation physics, fluid mechanics, equation of state and neutron transport. And made a lot of simulation calculation and analysis on the physical process of the atomic bomb, thus taking the first step of China's independent research and design of nuclear weapons.
Leading to complete the theoretical scheme of China's first atomic bomb, and participating in guiding the initiation simulation test before the nuclear test. Organized and led the research on the design principle and selected technical approaches of hydrogen bombs, and organized and led and participated in the development and test of 1967 China's first hydrogen bomb. Since the early 1970s, Deng Jiaxian has contributed to the organization, leadership and planning of new nuclear weapons in China.
family background
Deng Jiaxian was born in a scholarly family in Huaining County, Anhui Province. Deng, a great calligrapher in Qing Dynasty, was his sixth ancestor. Deng Jiaxian's father, Deng Yizhe, studied at Waseda University and Columbia University. After returning to China, he taught in Peking University, Tsinghua University and other universities. He is an aesthete and an art theorist.
The moral of Deng Yizhe's naming his son "Jiaxian" is that the show of five grains is called "Jia", which indicates that it will take root, be beautiful and mature in China and benefit the people. From the age of five, Deng Jiaxian went to primary school with his father in Beiping, and was admitted to Chongde Middle School in Beiping. In addition to primary school courses, I have to read four books and five classics and recite ancient poems every day. Later, I studied English hard and specialized in mathematics. Father's strict education laid a comprehensive cultural foundation for Deng Jiaxian's future study and research.
