My brothers, you are caught in all kinds of trials. "My brothers" refer to brothers and sisters in the Lord (see 2: 1). One of the characteristics of this book is to repeatedly address the recipient as "brother" (reference1:2:16:19; 2. 1,5, 14; Three 1, 10,12; Four11; 5 7, 9, 10, 12, 19), indicating the close relationship between them.
3. "Trial" refers to a painful experience. The original text is the same as the word "trial" later in this chapter (see section 12), but according to the context, they have different meanings. "Trial" refers to the suffering that comes to us from the outside in order to test and perfect us (see section 3-4); "Seduction" refers to the internal pain caused by selfish desires to induce us to commit crimes (refer to section 14~ 15).
