After the establishment of People's Republic of China (PRC), he served as the deputy director of the Central South Working Committee of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, the chairman of the Wuhan Federation of Trade Unions, the seventh to ninth executive members of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, the first deputy secretary of the Wuhan Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, the Standing Committee of the Hubei Provincial Committee, the acting first secretary of the Anshan Municipal Committee, the secretary of the Wuhan Municipal Committee and the chairman of the fifth CPPCC of Wuhan.
