According to official website of Wuling Tourism Bureau, Wulingyuan Scenic Spot was newly discovered in the early 1980s. It was opened as a tourist attraction in the early 1960s and designated as a national key scenic spot in the early 1980s. Located at the junction of Sangzhi and Cili counties in the middle part of Wuling Mountain in the northwest of Hunan Province, it belongs to Zhangjiajie City. Wulingyuan consists of four scenic spots, namely Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, Suoxiyu, Tian Zi and Yang Jiajie.
Wulingyuan is a fairyland on earth, a treasure house of green plants, a paradise for wild animals and rich in resources. Here, "the mountains are steep, the peaks are strange, the water is beautiful, the gorge is quiet and the caves are beautiful", and 5,000 rock peaks stand in deep valleys with different shapes. 800 streams meander through the Stone Forest Canyon.
