According to the Constitution of Ukraine, the official language of Ukraine is Ukrainian. Ukrainian is the national language of Ukraine and is widely used by the Ukrainian government, education system and media. Ukrainian belongs to the Eastern Slavic branch of Slavic language family, is the mother tongue of Ukrainian people, and is also an important part of Ukrainian culture and national identity.
