Extended data

The state of Jin rose during the reign of Jin Xiangong, "seventeen years after joining the country, thirty-eight years after serving the country". After Jin Wengong succeeded to the throne, he defeated Chu in the battle of Chengpu and took the lead in the first world war ... During the reign of Duke Xiang of Jin, Qin was defeated in the battle between Yao and Shun, and his father became the overlord of the Central Plains.

During the period of Duke Jing of Jin, the State of Jin was defeated by its old rival Chu in the Battle of Tai and turned to the Northern Expedition. After Jin was defeated by Qi in the battle of Ji, it invaded Chu in the wars of attacking Cai, Chu and Shen. After Jin Ligong succeeded to the throne, he defeated Qin and Di successively, and defeated Chu again in the battle of Yanling, regaining the world. When the Duke of Jin was in mourning, the national situation was at its peak, and the army ruled and dominated the Central Plains, reaching the peak of Jin's hegemony.

After that, there was a fierce struggle among Jin vassals, Bank of China, Zhi, Han, Zhao and Wei.

Fan and Bank of China perished first. In 453 BC, Han, Zhao and Wei jointly wiped out the Zhi family, and the State of Jin was divided among the three ethnic groups. In 403 BC, Zhou Weilie conferred the titles of Han, Zhao and Wei, which was historically called "the three tribes divided into Jin". In the first 349 years, the last duke of the State of Jin was killed and the State of Jin perished.

In the heyday of the Jin Dynasty, the region included the whole of Shanxi Province, eastern and northern Shaanxi Province, south-central Hebei Province, western and northern Henan Province, northwestern Shandong Province and vast areas of Inner Mongolia.

Even in the Spring and Autumn Period, when scholars all commented on the five tyrants, the State of Jin occupied four seats, namely, Duke Xiang of Jin, Duke Jing of Jin and Duke Dao of Jin.
