The town, called Hanyu in ancient times, is 32km away from Yingde City, with a county-level organizational history of 1.520 years. It is an ancient town with a long history and prosperous economy. The town covers a total area of 240.8 square kilometers, with 17 village (neighborhood) committees and a total population of about 80,000. It is a central town in Guangdong Province, a "national key town" and a sub-central city in yingde city. It has been awarded "Livable Demonstration Town in Guangdong Province", "Famous Education Town in Guangdong Province" and "Famous Town in Guangdong Province" successively. Cloud has a long history and culture. Preserved cultural relics and historic sites such as South Gate of Kuang, Long Live Bridge, Penglai Temple Tower, Guangzhou Guild Hall, Mo Xiong House, ancient buildings and villages in the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China add a bit of ancient charm to the cloud. Now many stone carvings in the town are copied from the original calligraphy of Mi Fei, a painter in the Northern Song Dynasty.
