On May 6th, 1987, several forest farms belonging to Xilin Gol League, Tuqiang, amuer and Tahe Forestry Bureaus in Daxinganling area of Heilongjiang Province caught fire at the same time, causing the most serious forest fire since the founding of New China.

Cause of fire
