Li Faceng was born in 194 1, a native of Suning, Hebei Province. 1964 graduated from the Performance Department of the Central Academy of Drama. Li Faceng has been engaged in the performing arts such as drama, film and television all his life, and has created various roles on the stage of drama, such as playing the leading role Zeng in Peking Man, the duo Fulinmen in One Servant and Two Masters, Xiang in The Last Scene and Stowe in Beijing.
The Li Faceng version of Zhuge Liang was shot on 1985 and jointly recorded by Hubei TV Production Center and Hubei TV Station. The drama is fourteen episodes long, and the plot extracts the life of Prime Minister Xi Shu, leaving the first image of Zhu Gekongming on the screen. With this classic role, Li Faceng won the Outstanding Actor Award in the 6th National Excellent TV Series Flying Award and the first place among the top ten TV actors in the 1st National TV Series.

A series of historical figures and artistic images with different personalities have been created on the screen, such as Liu Bang in the TV series Hanwang Liu Bang, Du Fu in the movie Dream of Red Mansions, After the Final Battle, Zhang Zhizhong in the movie Chongqing Negotiation, and Tong in the movie July 7th Incident.
In the movie After the Decisive Battle, Li Faceng vividly and delicately explained the gradual awakening process of Du, a "war criminal who refused to admit defeat", and clearly showed the "decisive battle" in the characters' souls. Li Faceng was nominated for the Golden Rooster Award for best actor for this role.
