Kucaihua is a war TV series directed by Jixing Wang, written by Feng Deying and starring Chen Xiaoyi, Ru Ping and Hou Tianlai. It was broadcast in Chinese mainland on July 7th, 2004.
Adapted from the novel of the same name by writer Feng Deying, the play tells the story of Wangguanzhuang in Jiaodong Mountain Area in early War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression.
The only landlord, Wang Yi (He Qiang), colluded with the Japanese aggressors to bully in the village, killed Aunt Feng's husband and drove her son away. Juanzi (Pei Wang), the eldest daughter, secretly participated in the anti-Japanese armed forces and organized an armed riot under the leadership of Jiang Yongquan (Gu Zhixin), the leader of the underground party.
