Qin Yubo is the only Shanghainese and the only officially certified city god among the three city god lords.
Qin Yubo is a man of great character. At 48, he became a scholar. He worked as a clerk and magistrate of a county, and then-resigned. His name soon reached the ears of a cow named Zhu Yuanzhang. Before Zhu Yuanzhang became emperor, the future emperor sent an invitation to Qin Yubo. But Qin Yubo refused, and refused for three times. It was not until Zhu Yuanzhang became emperor that he was given an ultimatum. Qin Yubo agreed to work in Nanjing if he was not afraid of the danger of being an official. Our Lord is indeed a man of principle. He went to Nanjing, but he "disobeyed his post". In the present words, we just work, but we will never work in the establishment. The emperor had no choice at all, and then arranged for him to be the magistrate of the northwest. Qin died on his way back to Shanghai before he took office.
Just at this time, Zhu Yuanzhang was paying homage to the founding heroes, and also named the city gods around the country as "showing help." He decided to personally name Qin Yubo "Xian Youbo" and call him "Shanghai City God". There is a folk saying that "life is not my minister, but death is my soil". It doesn't matter if you don't want to work for me before you die. You will still work for me after you die. Judging from this period of history, Zhu Yuanzhang is also estimated to be a Scorpio.
For more than 600 years, Qin Yubo, as a city god, has been guarding the people of Shencheng. Every year on February 21st of the lunar calendar, a "sacrificial ceremony" will be held at the Shanghai Town God Temple.
Second, Huo Guang.
The duke has a wide network of contacts. His name is Huo Guang. Huo Guang's whole family is awesome. His brother's name is Huo Qubing, his uncle's name is Wei Qing (though probably not related by blood), his aunt's name is Wei Zifu (if not related by blood), and Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty is his uncle.
According to the existing historical data, it can be said with certainty that there was no Shanghainese in Huo Guang's ancestors, and he could not have been to Shanghai. Huo Guang became the Lord of Shanghai, which involved a well-known person in the tossing world, Sun Hao, the last emperor of Wu. At that time, Jinshan Salty Pond was the earliest seawall recorded in Shanghai, and it was always flooded. Brother Sun Hao is a terrible emperor and a layman in water conservancy. I think about it day and night, and there is really nothing I can do. Later, I said that I met a god in my dream, calling himself Huo Guang, Duke of Hanbo, and said to him, "Jinshan Salt Pond is harmful due to tidal waves. I can build a temple salt pond, and the town should be in my charge. " Sun ordered the construction of Huo Guang Temple in Dajinshan, dedicated to Huo Guang.
Third, Chen Huacheng.
Chen Huacheng, who fought against the British in the Opium War, was the last city god. 1842, the British invaders attacked Wusong fortress with more than 10 thousand troops. Chen Huacheng, a veteran who was nearly 67 years old, personally waved the flag and fired a gun to fight against the invading army and landed in the British army. Chen Huacheng eventually died in the battlefield.
People will never forget a national hero like Chen Huacheng. Almost 100 years later, War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression broke out and the war spread again, but the invaders were replaced by Japanese. At that time, the Chenghuang Temple became a refugee shelter. The refugees who suffered from the war spontaneously carried the statue of Chen Huacheng into the Chenghuang Temple to offer sacrifices, hoping that he could show his spirit and help China.
