At the awarding ceremony of the 20 19 international corrosion conference hosted by NACE (American society of corrosion engineers), the world's largest international corrosion organization, Academician Hou Baorong of the Institute of Oceanography of China Academy of Sciences won the scientific and technological achievement award awarded by NACE International.

The American Society of International Corrosion Engineers was founded in 1943. Its purpose is to pay attention to corrosion engineering, corrosion investigation and research, introduce the development trend of corrosion technology, formulate general industry standards, and devote itself to the dissemination and training of corrosion knowledge.

During this trip to Nashville, Academician Hou Baorong also served as a consultant, representing the Chinese Society of Corrosion and Protection, and met with NACE international executives to discuss the future strategic cooperation between the two sides.
