What is Dawei?
Wu Dawei is now China's Special Representative for Korean Peninsula Affairs, in charge of the Six-Party Talks and related affairs. He used to be the ambassador to Japan and vice minister of foreign affairs, and now he is also the 11th Standing Committee of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and deputy director of the Foreign Affairs Committee. 1985—1989 served as the second secretary and first secretary of the Japanese embassy;

1989—1992 served as director and counselor of the Asian Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China;

1994-1998 as Minister Counsellor and Minister of the Japanese Embassy in People's Republic of China (PRC);

1April 1998-20011served as People's Republic of China (PRC)'s ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the Republic of Korea;

From July 5438, 2006 to August 2004, he served as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of People's Republic of China (PRC) to Japan;

In August 2004, he served as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China. Responsible for Asian regional affairs and treaty legal work.
