Yang's resume
1966 graduated from the Department of Psychology of Taiwan Province Provincial University, and 1972 received his doctorate in social psychology from the Department of Psychology of the University of Chicago. Later, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Yale University and the University of British Columbia respectively. Professor Yang has taught at the University of Washington in Seattle, the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Chung Cheng University in Taiwan, Yangming University and the University of Hong Kong. Professor Yang has been engaged in social psychology research for many years, especially devoted to the study of China people's self and interpersonal relationship. Up to now, many related monographs have been published, including dozens of representative works and papers such as How to Study China People, How to Understand China People, and China People's Interpersonal Relations, Emotions and Trust. In recent years, she has devoted herself to exploring the influence of the "golden mean" thought, the core part of China's traditional culture, on China people's psychology and behavior.

She is also the main member of China Native Psychology Research Foundation and the host of China Native Psychology Research Foundation (Hongkong).

Dr. Yang Songfang, Ph.D. in Social Psychology from the University of Chicago. She worked in Leo Boehner Advertising Company in Chicago, and taught in the marketing departments of the University of Washington, the University of Southern California and the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and then returned to the psychology department of the University of Hong Kong on 1984. She joined Sun Yat-sen University at 200 1. Since1early 1980s, she has adopted local methods to study the psychology of China people. Her research interests are in China people's self and self-expression, interpersonal relationships and emotions, and the golden mean way of thinking.
