Intelligence Interception in the Peiping Spy Case
1947 On the morning of September 24th, the action taken by the task force of the Secrecy Bureau against the Beiping Secret Radio Station in the courtyard of No.24 Donggong Street, Jingzhao, Jiaokou was to deliberately arrange for the arrest of the "live radio station". Duan Yunpeng climbed up the roof quietly again. There is a light in a room in the hospital. The people in the room didn't realize the danger at all, so they sent the last telegram under the nose of Duan Yunpeng. When he finished sending the telegram as usual and was packing up the equipment, Duan Yunpeng sent a signal. A group of secret agents broke into the house, and the secret radio station of the CPC Beiping was destroyed.

There are four people in Beiping Underground Radio Station located at No.24, Donggong Street, Jingzhao, Jiaokou, namely, director and operator Li, Meng Liangyu, translator Zhang Houpei (wife of Li) and (wife of Meng). Four people were caught on the spot. What surprised the spies even more was that when they seized the radio and telegraph manuscripts, they also copied a large number of telegraph manuscripts that were not destroyed in time from a wicker box under Li's bed. Quite a few of them were handwritten by our party's underground intelligence personnel lurking in Beiping.

At that time, the intelligence personnel who were engaged in underground work in Peiping were divided into three groups. The group leaders were Dong Jianping, Director and Acting Director of the First Division of Land Administration of Beiping Municipal Government, Liang Airan, Major General of Baoding appeasement Office, and Dong Zhaojun (pseudonym Dong), a professor and liaison officer of Beiping Women's Normal University. These three groups have no contact with each other, but they form an intersection here on the secret radio station. The acquisition of a large number of original telegrams and the successive defections of Li and others made this intersection a bombing point that destroyed the intelligence system in Peiping.

This intelligence disaster, which originated from the destruction of secret radio stations, quickly spread beyond Beiping, so that a huge intelligence system covering the north was implicated.
