Yan Shunkai, who is very funny now, graduated from Shanghai Theatre Academy. He was blindsided when 1963 first arrived at Shanghai Comic Troupe, because he knew nothing about how to make people laugh. Yan Shunkai recalled that the first farce he collaborated with Mr. Zhou Baichun was called "One Thousand and One Days". Yan Shunkai still had no confidence in himself, so Mr. Zhou Baichun did his ideological work. As a result, Yan Shunkai's premiere was a great success. In future performances of new plays, Zhou Baichun always sat under the stage to watch, which gave Yan Shunkai great confidence.
As a younger generation under the guidance of Zhou Baichun, Wang Rugang, the chairman of Shanghai Quyi Artists Association and a famous comedian, recalled that although he was not in a group, he often received selfless guidance and help from Zhou Baichun. Zhou Baichun, who is kind-hearted, never scolds young people, but always gives priority to encouragement to stimulate the potential of young actors. Zhou Baichun has no opinion about his family, and he gives careful guidance whether he is a believer in his family or not. In his later years, he not only often taught young actors skills, but also often went to the scene to watch young actors' performances and put forward pertinent opinions after the performances. "By Mr. Zhou's side, young actors feel like a spring breeze. He is really an artist with both ability and political integrity, "Wang Rugang said with emotion.
