"Highlights" before the start of the trip
Before the whole trip, I arranged for myself the most important and unforgettable experience in this trip: an unannounced visit to Yunnan golden monkey! I have been a wild animal lover since I was a child. I know the preciousness and mystery of Yunnan golden monkey, and I have long been circled by naive wild Yunnan golden monkey. After arriving at the first stop of this trip, the first thing is naturally to "dream".
Yunnan golden monkey is an endemic species in Yunnan, China, and is a national key protected animal. Living in the core of the Three Parallel Rivers National Nature Reserve, it is also called a national treasure with the giant panda. Because Yunnan golden monkeys usually only come out for food in the early hours of the morning, if you want to see Yunnan golden monkeys, you must get up early. So I choose to live in Tacheng, which is more convenient for me to enter the mountains or reach the monkey watching point.
After the shuttle bus arrives at the monkey observation point, it must get off and walk into the mountain. Because there are protective workers feeding at fixed points, the place where Yunnan golden monkey appears is generally fixed, and it can be observed without walking for a long time under normal circumstances. But we walked for 40 minutes on the day we went, until the altitude climbed to 3200 meters. A group of people were panting and finally saw these "hairy children".
Yunnan golden monkey is a gentle animal without any aggression. Just watching them squatting quietly eating pineapples and swinging, they have been extremely cured.
After reading it, I chatted with my uncle in Yunnan Golden Monkey Reserve and learned that he has been stationed in the reserve for 27 years. Uncle's job is to record and supervise the situation of golden monkeys on the mountain every day. He also named each Yunnan golden monkey. He said that he looked at the monkeys as if he were his own children. But this love is not exaggerated at all. You can feel it in his words and eyes.
On the way down the mountain, I ate a bowl of freshly ground tofu pudding at the farmer's house. I didn't expect this spoonful to become the first taste I will never forget this year. The sweetness of tofu pudding and the finishing touch of pepper are simply amazing. Finally, I asked my boss for some peppers to pack, hoping to keep the taste longer.

Chi zai ta cheng
Because I arranged a trip of "close contact" with Yunnan golden monkey, I stayed in Songzan Tacheng Mountain for two days. This mountain house is almost recognized as the best Chinese food in Songzan series.
On the one hand, this high evaluation is due to the stability of the cooking skills of the chefs living in Tacheng Mountain, and on the other hand, because most of the Songzan restaurants use local materials, and the rich products in Tacheng area bring more wonderful possibilities for cooking.

Baba in the restaurant tastes delicious. In addition, famous local hams can also be seen in stews and cooking. Tacheng ham has a stronger flavor than Jinhua ham, which we are familiar with, so I personally think Tacheng ham will be fresher when used to stew meat. Drink a ham and kidney bean soup in cold winter to warm your body and mind.
Rainbow trout is also a frequent visitor on the menu. Roasting rainbow trout is the most common practice here. Although the meat quality is not very delicate, the simple cooking method can enjoy the delicious taste of rainbow trout itself without adding too many distracting spices.
In winter, the hotel can also taste the iced wine produced by Tacheng Hada Ice Winery. Manufacturers with ice wine production technology are rare in China, because ice wine is almost harsh on grapes and climate, and it is difficult to produce on a large scale, so this winter's restrictions are even more precious. If you are interested in ice wine, you can go to the ice winery in the back of the hotel.

The prelude to the rain collapse trip
On the third day, I am going to leave Tacheng to meet the big troops and start my New Year's Eve trip. After leaving Tacheng, the first stop is Benzilan.
Benzilan, which means "the place where the princess dances" in Tibetan, is located in a warm canyon near the Jinsha River, only 75 minutes' drive from Shangri-La Diqing Airport. At an altitude of 2,020 meters, it is not only an important post station of the ancient tea-horse road, but also an important part of Shambhala, a mysterious place in james hilton's Lost Horizon.
Many people can't put it down because of its unique geographical location and comfortable altitude, which is why I took Benzilan as the first stop when I landed in Shangri-La, because it is very suitable as a post station to adapt to the altitude before entering Meili.

Hiking in the forest keeps me breathing fresh air. After stop-and-go, laughter and laughter, there is a hot pot picnic by the stream in the forest, waiting for us to take time to come here for a walk.

The scenery is on the road
The next stop is Songzan Yubeng tent camp in Yubeng village. Starting from Benzilan, we made a detour. First, I drove for three hours, and then I took a special off-road vehicle in the scenic spot. About 40 minutes later, we arrived at Yubeng. Followed by a 20-minute downhill, and finally arrived at the camp.
Although the journey is a little long, it's a good thing that it's sunny all the way. On the way to drive, Kawagebo suddenly broke into our sight, which also became a small climax of the journey.
Due to the weather, the surrounding area of Kawagebo is shrouded in fog all the year round, and the probability of watching Kawagebo will be greatly improved only in winter. This time, we were lucky enough to see what the mountain really looked like. The white snow-capped mountains against the blue sky are unusually clear, and they are all random blockbusters.
Speaking of the "Rizhao Jinshan" of Meili Snow Mountain, almost all people on the Yunnan-Tibet line don't want to miss the shocking scenery, and the foggy Ding Cun is one of the best viewing positions on the whole line.
The popular Xiashan Beautiful Hotel is located in Rime Ding Cun. The whole hotel has a whole floor of Murray Landscape Lounge, which can witness the whole process of Rizhao Jinshan for more than half a winter. If you have enough time, it is worthwhile to stay here for an extra night or two.

Arrive at Yubeng Village
Since the official opening of the 20 19 Yubeng Highway, it is no longer an elusive destination. Songzan's 10 tent in Xiayubeng Village touched my curiosity, which is also the most attractive place of my trip.
It was already evening when we arrived at the tent camp. Because of the great temperature difference between day and night, the lowest temperature here at night is as low as MINUS 5 degrees, so it is especially important to stay warm in the tent in the camp overnight.
However, the camp staff have already prepared cotton shoes and oil lamps. After the staff introduced the use method simply and clearly, we were taken to their tent.
There was a warmth immediately after getting into the tent. The dim light was warm, the space was compact and practical, and the bedding was the same as that of Songzan Hotel. In addition to the basic washing equipment, disposable foot-soaking bags and rechargeable tankers with sustainable heating are properly placed in the corner.

Health is a concern of many people. At present, there are toilet tents in two areas of Songzan Yubeng tent camp, one near the restaurant tent and the other near the living tent. No matter where you are in the camp, you can get there easily. Although there is no bathing equipment yet, it was already under construction when I visited it, and it is expected to be put into use early this year.

The day of registration happened to be the last day of 2020, and the camp specially prepared a beef hot pot dinner. It is a warm and healing ending to bid farewell to the magical year 2020 with a soup cooked for 8 hours and served with tender beef.
On New Year's Eve, a small party was held in the camp. We followed the camp staff to learn to dance the rice crust and drink red wine, leaving behind all the unpleasantness and disappointments in the past year, just to enjoy this moment.

Two or three things about walking in the rain
The first half of Shen-Pu railway is a large number of flat roads, which occasionally go uphill, but the uphill terrain in the second half will increase greatly.

It is about one kilometer away from Shenpu Waterfall, which is the most difficult part of the whole hiking route. Interestingly, on this "edge of despair", a slogan suddenly appeared on the roadside, which read "Despair has its own power of despair". Under this piece of heaven and earth, you can appreciate this sentence carefully and have a taste.

After walking this line, it is also the first time in my life to hike on the plateau for a long time. I climbed 600 meters above sea level, with a total journey of 15km, which is very satisfactory for a little white walker like me. However, friends who have no outdoor hiking experience and don't know their physical fitness don't have to worry too much, because ponies can ride on the most difficult road. When you really get here, maybe you will find that you can actually go along this seemingly long route.
The first trip in 20021year ended successfully with natural scenery, wildlife and humanistic customs. Although it is my first time to Shangri-La, the people I met along the way, whether they are hotel staff who provide simple but caring services, friendly and sharing local villagers, or even passers-by who just told me "Tashildler" in a friendly way, made me feel that Shangri-La is an old friend. Perhaps, as Songzan has been saying, this is our distant home. Welcome home.
