Fengtai County, which belongs to Huainan City, Anhui Province, is located in the middle reaches of Huaihe River, on the southern edge of Huaibei Plain, bordering Mengcheng County of Bozhou City in the north, Lixin County of Bozhou City in the northwest, Yingshang County of Fuyang City and Shouxian County of Huainan City across the Huaihe River in the west and Huainan City in the east. Fengtai county can be said to be the largest county in deep mining of coal mines in China.
Fengtai belonged to Xu and Yang Er States in the early days, and later to Huainan City. Fengtai County is located in the north-central part of Anhui Province, in the middle reaches of Huaihe River. The terrain in the territory inclines from northwest to southeast, with an altitude of 40- 19.45 meters. Due to the change of rivers, this area has been eroded and accumulated by Huanghuai for many times, forming a large flat landform.

Fengtai County is famous for its ancient village ruins of Gudui Temple, located in Gudui Temple, Limin Village, Zhumadian Town, 85 meters south of Hegang River and 9 meters north of Yunlianggou. It belongs to the Neolithic Age to the Western Zhou Dynasty.
