From the son of a tenant farmer to a lawyer

However, the poverty of his family did not hinder Chen Shui-bian's studies, and his grades have been excellent from primary school to university. 1June, 963, Chen Shui-bian graduated from Longtian Primary School with the first place, won the "County Award" and was sent to the junior middle school of Zengwen Middle School (now Madou Middle School). 1June, 966, Chen Shui-bian graduated from junior high school first, and went straight to Zengwen Middle School and Senior High School. The following year, Tainan No.1 Middle School. 1In June, 969, Chen graduated with the first place in high school, and in August of the same year, he was admitted to the Business Administration Group of the Department of Business Studies of Taiwan Province Provincial University with the first choice.
1At the end of 969, Taiwan Province Province held the supplementary election of the First Central People's Congress. Influenced by the election speech of Huang Xinjie, a well-known "non-Party member" and the late former chairman of Democratic Progressive Party, Chen Shui-bian decided to give up business law and drop out of school despite his family's opposition. In August of the following year, Chen Shui-bian was admitted to the Judicial Group of the Law Department of Taiwan Province Provincial University with the highest score in each department. During his college years, Chen Shui-bian was very active. He used to be the editor-in-chief of Fa Xun, a periodical of the Law Department of National Taiwan University, and the president of Fa Yan, a periodical of the Law School of National Taiwan University. In the third year of college, Chen passed the bar exam with the first place in Taiwan and became the youngest lawyer at that time. 1In June, 974, Chen Shui-bian graduated from the Law Department of National Taiwan University with the first place.
1February, 975, Chen married his high school alumni and fellow villagers. From 1977 to 1979, before the "Beautiful Island" incident, Chen worked in Taipei Huaxia Maritime Law Firm, devoted himself to representing maritime legal cases and became one of the most famous lawyers in the maritime field in Taiwan Province Province. He used to be the legal adviser of Yangming Shipping and other companies, the litigation attorney of Evergreen Shipping Company, and fought with Dr. Chen, who was the vice chairman of the Straits Exchange Foundation. After the "Beautiful Island" incident, Zhang Junxiong found Chen Shui-bian and asked him to be Huang Xinjie's defense lawyer. Only then did Chen's life take a major turning point and enter the political circle.
