On February 8th, 20 10, the Encyclopedia of Traditional Chinese Medicine was co-sponsored by more than 40 academicians including Wu Jieping, Ba Denian, Liu Depei, Hou Yunde and Chen Keji, and compiled by China Academy of Medical Sciences. Under the guidance and coordination of the General Administration of Press and Publication, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Finance, this project will be jointly implemented by famous experts and scholars from Chinese Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine, China CDC, China Academy of Military Medical Sciences and other national medical research institutions and key universities. Its editors are not limited to Chinese mainland, but also China doctors from Hongkong, Macau, Taiwan Province Province and abroad. The project will develop specialized writing software and network platform, and establish a database containing words, pictures and videos. The final publishing forms include book edition, electronic edition and online edition, and the encyclopedia of traditional Chinese medicine will become a multimedia encyclopedia.
China Encyclopedia of Medicine plans to include 6 categories 144 volumes, with a total word count of about1.500 million. Located in general medical reference books, the main readers are medical and health professionals and other related professionals.
The compilation of Encyclopedia of Traditional Chinese Medicine consists of a steering committee, an academic committee, a compilation committee and a working committee.
