According to the survey, there are more than 6,000 textile enterprises included in the pollution map database of China, and some of them have been punished or failed to be treated within a time limit due to problems such as setting up concealed pipes privately, directly discharging sewage, using sewage treatment facilities abnormally, and discharging pollutants beyond the standard and total amount. Among these enterprises, there are many suppliers of international and domestic brands. Environmental organizations advise consumers to pay attention to the environmental performance of enterprises and promote green production with green consumption.

Five environmental protection organizations, such as Friends of Nature, Public Environmental Research Center, Darwin, Huanyou Technology and Nanjing Greenstone, jointly released the survey report "Cleaning up Pollution for Fashion-Green Choice of Textile Brand Supply Chain Pollution" on the afternoon of April 9, revealing the list of 48 textile brands and clothing retailers that illegally discharged pollutants. Nike, Esquel, Walmart, H&; M, Levi's, Adidas, Burberry, 36 1 degree, Anta, Youngor and other international and domestic famous brands are among them.

According to the research report, the above-mentioned environmental protection organizations spent nearly a year investigating textile enterprises and clothing retailers all over China. The results show that a large number of textile enterprises have illegal environmental records and cannot achieve stable discharge standards.

Ma Jun, director of the Public Environmental Research Center, also revealed that there are more than 6,000 textile enterprises in the pollution map database of China in the center.

Panyu Jinxing Textile Bleaching and Dyeing Co., Ltd., a subsidiary exposed in the report, named Jinxing International Holdings Co., Ltd., was recognized as a red card enterprise in the environmental credit evaluation of environmental credit management enterprises of key pollution sources in Guangdong Province in 20 10, and was a supplier of many world-renowned clothing brands.

Another exposed enterprise is Zhejiang Qingfeng Textile Printing and Dyeing Co., Ltd., which is a weaving and dyeing factory set up by Hongkong Julia Group. The enterprise has been rated as a bad environmental credit rating; According to the data of Global Textile Network, its customers include GUESS, GAP, LEVI'S, ESPRIT, POLO, Zhiduoxing, Martha, Wal-Mart, Itochu and Youngor.

Futian Industry (Group) Co., Ltd. has attracted the special attention of the above-mentioned environmental protection organizations. Ma Jun said that this company and its affiliated companies are regarded as one of the largest producers of cylindrical knitted fabrics in the world, but its subsidiary Dongguan Fuan Textile Printing and Dyeing Co., Ltd. was investigated and punished for setting up concealed pipes to secretly discharge printing and dyeing wastewater. The investigation found that Dongguan Fuan Textile Printing and Dyeing Co., Ltd. privately set up two pipelines to steal rows. An iron concealed pipe with a diameter of 25 cm directly discharges more than 20,000 tons of printing and dyeing wastewater under the control of two concealed valves. The factory also made a false account of water consumption statistics for environmental protection departments.

It is reported that the above-mentioned environmental protection organizations have preliminarily sorted out the supply relationship between textile product manufacturers and well-known brands through investigation, and sent letters to the bosses of 48 enterprises on March 22, 26 and 29 this year, hoping that these enterprises can check and confirm and promote the rectification and upgrading of suppliers through green procurement.

After the reminder letter was issued, some brands have already responded. Among them, Nike, Esquel, Wal-Mart, H& etc. M, Levi's, Adidas, Burberry, etc. Action has been taken to investigate and propose solutions. Some brands not only responded to the specific issues mentioned in the letter from environmental protection organizations, but also expressed their support for environmental protection work and participation of environmental protection organizations in China.

"However, among these 48 brands, 32 have not responded." According to the report, this includes not only international brands such as Martha, ESPRIT, CK, Armani and Carrefour, but also domestic famous brands such as 36 1 degree, Anta and Youngor.

According to the report, the investigation found that some of Zara's suspected suppliers had environmental violations, including complaints from local people, and some production wastewater was directly discharged without treatment, which was rated as one of the typical local environmental violations, and the accident of cleaning the wastewater pool caused many casualties.

The Ministry of Environmental Protection once said that after China's entry into WTO, China's textile industry grew at a double-digit rate every year (some of them exceeded 30%), and the discharge of wastewater and various pollutants also increased year by year. The consumption of caustic soda only increased by 1 times in five years, and the total discharge of pollutants showed an increasing trend.

In addition, the report on prevention and control of industrial pollution in key industries in 2008 shows that the average content of pollutants in printing and dyeing wastewater in China is 2-3 times that of foreign countries, and the water consumption is as high as 3-4 times. In this regard, the Ministry of Environmental Protection has also commented that the production technology of most printing and dyeing enterprises (especially small and medium-sized enterprises) in China is at the level of the early 1980s.
