Xiang Dong, Pingliang, Gansu, is a military composer. He was a professional composer in the original editing room of the Lanzhou Military Region Combat Song and Dance Troupe, and now he composes for the Great Wall Art Troupe of the General Staff of the China People's Liberation Army. He studied in the Music Department of Northwest Normal University and the Composition Department of China Conservatory of Music, and studied composition under the teacher Shi Wanchun. More than 50 works won grand prizes in national military competitions.
