On April 23rd, Wang Zhixue presided over a meeting to listen to the report on the planning scheme of Gushi Port and study and promote the port construction. Wang Jun, member of the Standing Committee of the County Party Committee and Minister of Propaganda, Wang Qiang, the county leader, and heads of relevant departments attended the meeting.

Before the meeting, Wang Jun and Wang Qiang led the participants to Wanggang Port, sanhejian Town, to inspect the planning and construction of Gushi Port and learn more about the cargo throughput and route operation of the terminal.

It is understood that Wang Gang Wharf was built in 1992 with a designed throughput of 400,000 tons. With the development of shipping, the throughput in 20 18 has reached 2.3 million tons, making it the largest Huaihe deepwater terminal in Henan province. Relying on the geographical advantages of sanhejian Town, which is located at the gateway of Huaihe River in Henan Province and connects Huainan and Bengbu in Anhui Province, the county party committee and government plan to upgrade Wanggang Wharf to Gushi Port, with an area of 10.5 square kilometers, and strive to turn it into a regional center of water transportation, logistics, warehousing and tourism, and build a comprehensive transportation distribution center for sand, steel, cement, oil and gas and crops in southeastern Henan Province.

At the meeting, planners explained the basic situation, planning vision, functional orientation, development goals, spatial layout and other related contents of Gushi Port.

Leaders attending the meeting and heads of relevant departments put forward opinions and suggestions on the planning and construction of Gushi Port around the port development forecast and industrial layout concept.
