To this end, a provision has been added to Article 299 of the draft amendment (10) of the Criminal Law, which stipulates that whoever intentionally falsifies National Anthem of the People's Republic of China's lyrics and music scores in public places, distorts or belittles the performance of the national anthem, or insults the national anthem in other ways, if the circumstances are serious, shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not more than three years, criminal detention, public surveillance or deprivation of political rights.
