Brief introduction of Li Shimin of Emperor Taizong
Li Shimin (599-649) was born in Didao, Longxi (now Lintao, Gansu). Smart, brave and ambitious. In the ninth year of Wude (626), he launched the "Xuanwumen Change" and won the throne for Emperor Taizong. He was an outstanding politician and strategist in the feudal dynasty of China. From the beginning, he emphasized the principle of governing the country, that is, "listen to people's understanding and listen to people's darkness", "water can carry a boat, but it can also overturn it", and he can "respect the virtuous corporal". Supplement: In December of the first year of Zhenguan (AD 627), Li Shimin said to the courtiers, "The immortal is illusory, just has a name. Thus, Li Shimin did not believe in immortality in his early days. Later, Li Shimin's health became worse and worse. Coupled with the disappointing performance of his son, Li Chenggan was dismissed, which was a blow to Li Shimin. Under various pressures, Li Shimin even changed his outlook on life. The wise Li Shimin listened to God and began to look for the elixir of life. On his way to Tianzhu, Wang Xuanze was persecuted by the local king Aroshenna and most of his members were killed. After Wang Xuance's amulet fled, he captured thousands of Tibetan and Nepalese cavalry, swept the northern part of Tianzhu, and captured Aroshenna and other war criminals. After returning to Chang 'an, Wang Xuance handed over the prisoners to Li Shimin. However, it seems that Li Shimin is not interested in the leader of the enemy, but he is interested in another prisoner, monk Nachuan. He will make some elixir of immortality, but this has no intention of catering to the psychology of Emperor Taizong. Emperor Taizong thought that the magic bullet of China Taoism was invalid, so he took a chance and thought that the monk's might be effective. At that time, Li Shimin had no choice but to go to the hospital at once. His judgment has declined. Naturally, listening to the wind is the wind and listening to the rain is the rain. Li Shimin never imagined that the elixir of life had become a life-threatening drug. He feels sick as soon as he takes medicine. His illness not only failed to be cured, but also worsened. Two months later, Li Shimin died of "sudden illness" at the age of 52. Source: reading and composition
