Soon after, the scale was further expanded, and ships such as Yongmin, Yongyao and Taisheng were purchased. 1946, Zongrui Gu founded Taichangxiang Shipping Company in Shanghai, owned 13 new-style ships, and operated shipping in Shanghai, Tianjin, Wuhan and other places, becoming a leader in the domestic shipping industry at that time.
In 1930s, Zongrui Gu set foot in textile industry and food industry. Zongrui Gu founded ruitai Wool Textile Factory in Shanghai, and Tongji Sauce Garden in Ningbo, operating the condiment industry.
During the civil war between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party, China's economy and industry were destroyed. Zongrui Gu moved Taichangxiang Company to Hong Kong and continued to seek development in the shipping industry. After Zongrui Gu came to Hong Kong, he seized the opportunity of the rapid development of the world shipping industry, and the enterprise made rapid progress, and established branches in Japan, the United States, Singapore and other parts of the world. During his stay in Hong Kong, Zongrui Gu still missed his hometown and supported its construction through charity.
