Zhu, former deputy director of the Standing Committee of Maoming Municipal People's Congress, Guangdong Province. On 20th11April19th, he was investigated for serious violation of discipline. On May 5, 20 12, the case of Zhu's alleged bribery was heard in Guangzhou Railway Transport Intermediate People's Court. The procuratorate found that Zhu accepted bribes of RMB130,000 yuan, HK$ 3 million and US$ 200,000 yuan by selling 54 "official hats" and contracting projects. The Zhanjiang Intermediate People's Court ruled in the first instance that Zhu was sentenced to life imprisonment for accepting bribes and bribery.
