1 864 65438+1October1Qi Baishi was born in Changsha, Hunan. The name is Chunzhi, the word is clear, and the word Lanting. At the age of 27, he changed his name to Huang, was born frequently, and was nicknamed Baishishan, and sent to the garden.

From 65438 to 0870, he studied under his grandfather Zhou Yuruo and often painted with calligraphy books and account paper.

1878, Teacher Zhou Zhimei studied wood carving. Learn flower and bird and figure painting after carpentry.

1888, he took Xiao Peng, a folk artist, as his teacher and painted his portrait.

Qi Baishi's deeds and personal achievements are outstanding. In order to commemorate his dedication, people protected the residence where he lived before his death as his former residence, which is also a kind of respect and admiration for him.

Qi Baishi's former residence is located in the middle of Yuer Hutong, adjacent to Nanluoguxiang in the east.

The former residence covers an area of 204 square meters and faces east. This is a house with three courtyards and a cross courtyard. Qi Baishi lived here from the age of 50 to his death.

The North Three Rooms were the "White Stone Painting Rooms" in those days, because there was an iron fence in front of them, also called the iron fence room. A 3.3-meter-long and 0.84-meter-high horizontal plaque carved by Qi Baishi hangs under the eaves of the North House.

The former residence, facing east, is a quadrangle with three rooms in the east, west and north, covering an area of about 600 square meters. The three rooms in the north are Qi Baishi's studio, bedroom and dining room.

1937 After the July 7th Incident, Qi Baishi, who made a living by selling paintings, closed his doors here, refused to sell paintings from the Japanese puppet leaders, showing his lofty national integrity.
