It's huge. Auditor-General is the highest leader of provincial audit institutions. The NPC Standing Committee appoints and dismisses the deputy auditor-general and the auditor-general at the request of the auditor-general, and approves the appointment and dismissal of the auditors-general of provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government. Therefore, the auditor-general has great power. The Audit Office is an integral part of Chinese government organs, corresponding to the Audit Office of the central government.
