The ship "Xiang Yanghong 10" sailed through the waves for the first Southern Ocean research station. The Southern Ocean expedition team members who delivered materials and equipment for the Great Wall Station forgot their fatigue, and with the ambition of advancing into the Antarctic Circle and winning 84 stations, they fought in the laboratory and were busy on the deck.
At 22: 80 on the same day, the first research station located at 62 08' south latitude and 56 48' west longitude arrived. The 9-level gale blowing from the polar regions made the ship sway 20 degrees in the hill-like swell. There were no reinforced bottles and jars in the engine room, and they crashed to the floor with a crash.
The team members are working in the bumpy wind and waves. The "9 19 Automatic Temperature and Salt Depth Recorder" specially developed by Tianjin Ocean University for Southern Ocean Scientific Research plunged into the sea and dived to the seabed of1050m, recording the data of temperature, salinity and depth. Standard large nets and small nets for collecting plankton are also sent into the waves. Suddenly, a huge swell hit the ship, and immediately the waves splashed on the deck, and the cold seawater splashed all over the crew, and the two chains on the ship were broken. The surface dredger was put into use twice in the surge, but both failed, and the layered plankton sampling network could not be put down in the wind and waves. After a night of fighting, dawn came. The Southern Ocean expedition team members worked in the storm for more than 8 hours and successfully obtained the first-hand information of the first research station.
