Shang Yunxiang, whose real name is Ji Ting, is from Shangjia Village, Laoling, Shandong Province. He was born in 1864 and died in 1937. Shang Yunxiang suffered a fiasco, so Shang Yunxiang looked around for the famous Xingyiquan teacher, and later found Li Cunyi. So Shang Yunxiang studied Xingyiquan with Li Cunyi, and Shang Yunxiang was talented and hardworking, and soon stood out among other disciples, so Li Cunyi especially liked Shang Yunxiang and taught him his kung fu. Because of his obsession with martial arts, Shang Yunxiang neglected to do business, leading to poor life, and he didn't even have a pair of shoes, so he practiced barefoot and his feet were as hard as iron for a long time, so people nicknamed him "Iron Foot Buddha". Li Cunyi and Cheng Yan Hua are both disciples of Dong Haichuan, and they have a very good relationship, so Shang Yunxiang got the true biography of two mentors.
Later, many martial arts heroes in Shang Yunxiang and Beijing learned from each other, but they were all friendly. Because Li Cunyi and Cheng Yanhua are very close, Shang Yunxiang is also guided by Cheng Yanhua.
Later, Li Cunyi passed on all the experience he gained from visiting his peers in the West to Shang Yunxiang, and Shang Yunxiang visited Liuhe Gate twice, which was quite rewarding. Later, Shang Yunxiang had numerous meetings with his friends in the Wulin in Beijing, and gradually gained the recognition of the insiders. More and more people want to learn martial arts from Shang Yunxiang. There are many disciples in Shang Yunxiang, including Han, Zhang Hongdian, Zhang Xuesheng, Yi, Xiao Zhijun and so on. These disciples were all collected by Shang Yunxiang in his later years.
