Zhang Qiang's main research direction
New technologies and equipment for separation of fine refractory minerals, recycling of solid wastes, and deep processing of mineral raw materials and mineral materials.

Mainly engaged in the research of new technology, new equipment and solid waste recycling of fine refractory minerals, and has gradually formed its own characteristics and advantages. It has undertaken and completed a number of key projects in the Sixth Five-Year Plan, the Seventh Five-Year Plan and the Eighth Five-Year Plan of the State and Ministry of Metallurgical Industry. Research projects such as slow cooling beneficiation of Baotou blast furnace rich in rare earth slag, comprehensive recovery and utilization of Panzhihua titanium-bearing blast furnace slag, tackling key problems of refractory red ore in Donganshan and comprehensive utilization of Yujiagou ultra-poor iron ore have all passed ministerial appraisal, and the evaluation is at the advanced level at home and abroad. The research results of "wet separation and utilization of fly ash" were invited to make a special report at the first national fly ash technical exchange meeting of the State Science and Technology Commission, and passed the appraisal of Beijing Science and Technology Commission 1986, which was well received. The research results of "separation and utilization of fly ash in petroleum coke" and "reduction of titanium in kaolin to improve whiteness" have been adopted by foreign companies. 1994 and 1995, the new low-height flotation column successfully completed the industrial separation test of primary ore and tailings in Tonglushan copper mine, and has been used to recover copper and gold from tailings, achieving good benefits. The new mathematical model of low-height flotation column and the first amplification method have played a positive role in its industrial application. In recent years, exploration and development are being carried out in the fields of mineral processing, environmental engineering, mineral materials and powder engineering. , undertaking 2 projects of National Natural Science Foundation. He is also a member of the Mineral Processing Society of China Metal Society and the editorial board of several professional magazines. Participate in the formulation of medium and long-term plans for metallurgical science and technology progress, and participate in the evaluation of the top ten scientific and technological achievements in China from 65438 to 0993. He has published more than 70 academic papers and translations at home and abroad. Editor-in-chief: Basic Physical Mineral Processing and Introduction to Mineral Processing.
