Tuwa Village, located in Langkazi County, Shannan City, with an altitude of 5070 meters, is the highest administrative village in the world. The summer here is only over two months, and the oxygen content in the air is less than half of that in the mainland, almost reaching the height limit of human daily life. The biggest communication between the village and the outside world took place in 2005, when a Sino-Japanese joint mountaineering team happened to pass by. Today, only over one hundred people have been here. High altitude makes it sparsely populated. This village with only 159 people maintains an almost primitive life, and few people can speak Mandarin. Tuiwa village still maintains the commune system, and people, regardless of their positions, have to take turns herding cattle and collecting cow dung for unified distribution. Even the candy brought by tourists to children will be distributed equally according to the number of people in each household. The most distinctive feature of Tuwa village is the local Tibetan folk houses and folk songs sung by herders. Careless children can be seen running happily everywhere in the streets of the village. The villagers in Tuva have lived on animal husbandry for generations. Pumo Yongcuo and Yang are their "parents". Every household has a textile machine. Men spin cow hair and women spin wool.
Tuiwa Village is deeply hidden in Pumo Yongcuo, a place praised by senior Tibetans as "China's unique holy lake of Lan Bing". When the road is blocked, few people know, and even fewer people go there. It was not until the CCTV documentary "The Roof of the World" was broadcast that people finally knew that just in southern Tibet, we also had a sacred lake in Lan Bing. The carp in the lake can reach more than 30 kilograms. In order to adapt to the plateau life without scales, it is called naked carp. Pumo Yongcuo, "Pumo" is a transliteration of a little girl in Tibetan, and "Yongcuo" means a jade-like lake. With an altitude of 50 10 meters and a lake area of 290 square kilometers, it is the largest freshwater lake with the highest altitude in the piedmont basin at the northern foot of the Himalayas. Next to Pumo Yongcuo, the towering Kulagang Ri Xuefeng is waiting here forever. Snowmelt water is the source of life in this lake. The flowing water flows eastward through a small river and flows into Yongcuo, Yang Zhuo. In the cold winter, standing on the ice in Pumoyong is like dreaming. This is an ice lake, where you can see the bottom of the lake. Its frozen color is crystal blue, like a large uncut sapphire. Ice cracks and bubbles are all over the lake, like the ice in the glass world. Eyes will instantly enter heaven, giving people the illusion of stepping on Lake Baikal.
Due to the high altitude and short summer, the grassland in Tuiwa village can't provide enough winter feed for more than 3000 sheep of 43 herders. Pumo Yongcuo, known as the "tears of girls", has an island in the middle of the lake. Because the lake blocked the island and the sheep, after a summer of gestation, the island was covered with grass for the sheep to eat. Every year when the plateau is coldest, Pumoyong is frozen into an ice lake. Therefore, every year, the shepherds in Tuwa village choose to risk their flocks and spend the winter on the island in the middle of the lake in the middle of winter, spend the calving period and enjoy the happy "holiday" on the island. When spring returns to the earth and the ice lake has not been unsealed, choose an auspicious day to pick up the sheep and welcome the arrival of spring. This unique ice shepherd transformation in the world has been going on in this land for thousands of years.
The transformation of ice is very special. The villagers used cow dung and furnace ashes to "draw" a safe path for the sheep on the frozen lake. This gray path is about 3 kilometers long, from the shore to the island in the middle of the lake. Because cow dung ash is soft and sticky, it is not easy for sheep to slip when stepping on it. This path is the thickest ice line selected by the elders in the village after repeatedly checking the ice surface with years of experience. Shepherd Tashi led the first sheep to the lake, took the first step to the ice, and then the sheep followed slowly. Sheep more than 500 meters long began to leave the island with rich aquatic plants. Halfway through the sheep, the sun began to rise, and the snow-capped mountains around Pumo Yongcuo were covered with golden light, and the scenery was as beautiful as a fairyland. However, for the shifting sheep, the rising sun is like a wake-up call, reminding them that they need to speed up their steps across the ice lake. When the last sheep left the ice and landed safely, this long team also bid farewell to the cold winter and headed for spring.
At this time, Yi Xiwangjie, a 48-year-old monk, is meditating in the Buddhist temple of Humenlin Temple in Tuwa village, praying for today's smooth transition. The Tui Temple was built on the cliff at the wrong side of Pumoyong, with a 360-degree invincible lake view. Its face value is not generally high, and it has the visual sense of five Italian fishing villages. There is another place in Tuiwa Village with an excellent perspective. You'll never guess. It is the only public toilet in Tuiwa village. The high platform of the toilet is facing the beautiful Pumo Yongcuo. The snow-capped mountains are looming under the clouds, and the golden light seems to fall on the lake in the evening sky. This is probably the most beautiful toilet in the world.
In the early morning or evening, standing on the observation deck of Pumo Yongcuo Hubei, the Kulagang Ri Snow Mountain on the left stands proudly. Zooming in with telephoto, we can even clearly see that Ningjin, the main glacier located on the north slope of the main peak in Canggangli, blocks sand. The breathtaking sunrise and sunset are unforgettable beauty for a lifetime. Kulagang Rishen Mountain is shaped like Mount Everest, with a pyramid shape and an altitude of 7538 meters. It stands on the main ridge line in the middle of the Himalayas, and the whole snow mountain consists of three peaks. The east side is adjacent to the 7,000m Dengfeng Karejiang River; Further east, the huge and gentle mountain is the 6,000-meter watershed Mengdagang Day, which is separated between Luozha County and Pumoyongcuo. From a distance, the peaks are like an indomitable ice and snow barrier, guarding the south gate of Tibetan areas. There are spectacular ice towers, ice cliffs, ice walls and steep slopes on the glacier. Frequent ice collapses and avalanches often occur continuously and roar endlessly, which is amazing.
It is understood that Tuiwa Village is the village with the shortest life expectancy in Shannan. The government tried to let them move several times, but they refused and kept it. Perhaps in their view, this small village, even though it has many disadvantages, is finally their hometown that they can't give up! Maybe people will question why anyone wants to live in such a place. We have never really been here and experienced the local life. We don't know how to answer this question, but we can borrow a sentence from the last Tibetan in the documentary "Roof of the World": We are not rich, but we are not poor. ...
