Qian Qichen was the first spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China.

During his tenure as Director of the Information Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 1977 to 1982, Qian Qichen proposed to establish a spokesperson system in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and served as the first spokesperson of the Ministry. 1988 to 1998, with Qian Qichen as Minister of Foreign Affairs.
