Because General Ye Fei's mother is Filipino, his father is from Nan 'an, Fujian, China, and Ye Fei was born in Quezon, Philippines. At the age of five, he returned to Jin Tao in Nan 'an to live abroad. Later, he joined the Red Army and gradually got promoted. 1955 was awarded the rank of general by the Central Military Commission, so he was an overseas Chinese general. Ye Fei was found by the enemy in an underground joint activity and was shot five times. In an enemy chase, he jumped from the top of the mountain and was seriously injured. He was shot and killed by the enemy, but he didn't die. He survived the bullets in War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the War of Liberation.
