Transferring oil into Sichuan became the most important task of PetroChina's Sichuan sales at that time. In the mid-1990s, Sichuan Province was seriously short of oil. Local governments at all levels have asked the provincial government for oil in succession, and Sichuan Marketing has received instructions to transfer oil to Sichuan Insurance production almost every day.

Sichuan Petrochemical Project adopts full hydrogenation process instead of traditional coking treatment, uses clean fuels such as natural gas, and adopts effective waste gas treatment measures such as circulating filtration recovery system, so that the waste gas emission can meet the most stringent national standards, without affecting the overall air quality level in Chengdu.
