If you want to settle down, you must first say "safety", "body" and "life".
Let's talk about "settlement" first. As the name implies, what "body" is "fixed body"? The "body" here is not only physical in nature, but a fusion of matter and spirit, that is, a complete person. "settling down" means settling down as a whole, which is multifaceted and spiritual and material.
However, the current situation is that most people have a biased understanding. They think that "settling down" only needs material settlement, not spiritual settlement, or they think that if you settle down in material life, your spirit will gradually settle down. This idea is actually reasonable, but it is only reasonable. The pursuit of material settlement is everyone's most primitive pursuit, and it is the life instinct that has existed since the birth of mankind. It is better to eat, drink, and have a good sleep, so that you can live a rich and carefree life. This simple pursuit is the life goal of most people. But frankly, such a goal is too simple, and I can almost conclude that if that time comes, it will still be the same distress and confusion. The reason is that most people know how to settle down materially, but they have nowhere to go spiritually. Material richness can't completely bring spiritual satisfaction, because the root of mental distress still lies in not knowing where to go, that is, spiritual settlement.
I often say that the fundamental problem of society now lies in the lack of spiritual home, which is the basic contradiction of "people's growing need for a better life and unbalanced development" in official terms. Look at this sentence, "people's growing need for a better life" involves two aspects, material and spiritual; "Unbalanced and insufficient development" refers to all aspects, including regions, strata, spirit and material. In fact, to put it bluntly, there are both material problems and mental problems, but the more urgent or fundamental one is mental problems.
Our country is not a religious country, or our national beliefs never go to religion. Why? Because the belief of the Chinese nation is only in the word "China", China people only believe in themselves. Therefore, the people of China are the most pragmatic. Generally speaking, they believe in everything that is beneficial and discard everything that is useless. Different from other civilizations in the world, we were fortunate enough to start philosophical thinking about life as early as 2000 BC, and initiated the great development of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism in the Spring and Autumn Period, the Eastern Han Dynasty to the Tang Dynasty, and the Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties, and finally reached the great fusion of China's philosophy-Yangming's Mind. China people have a philosophy of life, so they don't need the role of the Lord God. China people have faith, and they also believe in worshipping gods, but that's just respect and worship, which is far from the pious belief of western civilization. It is pragmatic for China people to believe in God and religion. In their bones, it still means "equality between man and god" In many stories, God was a human being at first, but later he became a supernatural power or a god and Buddha with great consciousness. If there is a god who is not good to people, there will be resistance and struggle, and even kick this god aside and ignore it. This can even be proved by the slow spread of Christianity and Islam in China. Most people in China believe in God only for inner peace. God bless him. This is a form of belief that is broken and advocated, and is essentially equal.
We are not short of philosophy. China's philosophy stresses the realm of life and requires people to think about how to live. This philosophy of life should have become the belief totem of China people by now. Unfortunately, in the hundreds of years of turmoil and humiliation in the Qing Dynasty, this philosophy of life was almost out of date, and now China people can hardly directly understand and apply China's ancient philosophy. The so-called "settling down" is only half learned, and "spiritual body" has not attracted enough attention.
Personally, I think that Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism, together with Neo-Confucianism and psychology, everyone should have at least one book that China people should read, namely The Analects of Confucius, The Tanjing, The Tao Te Ching and The Notes. After reading it through, you will find that in fact, all roads lead to the same goal, but the focus is different. Confucianism emphasizes "self-improvement", Buddhism emphasizes "freedom", Taoism emphasizes "nature" and Yangming studies emphasizes "self", but the fundamental problem of every family lies in the problem of "settling down", especially discussing how to "settle down physically and mentally" and how China people can find their own spiritual home and construct their own realm. Once they do this, they can settle their spirits. What kind of body you have, you will have the answer. Everyone is different, but basically it lies in two words: "health" and "independence". The requirement of "health" is that everything is based on physical health, and material determines spiritual survival. The word "health" is enough to cover everything. As for the material conditions for enjoying life, you can go back a little. It inherently requires "independence and freedom". People should be independent and free in the world. He is a complete person. He should have his own spiritual pursuit and establish his own spiritual home. The premise is self-independence. Only when he can absorb spiritual food freely and comprehensively can he have enough motivation and material to settle his heart.
Knowing what to live in, then how to live in it is a greater learning. It can be said that for thousands of years, countless philosophers have been struggling to explore this problem. I pointed out the direction for reading and understanding those famous China philosophical works. But don't forget, you don't study for the sake of studying, nor do you study for the sake of showing off. People's pursuit of spiritual security is like climbing a mountain. Confucianism and Daoxin Shi are like different roads, and reading is to look at a map and understand the path and method of climbing a mountain. But to climb to the top, you still have to look at your own practice and nature. Enlightenment is a process of accumulation and mind. Most people don't seek enlightenment, but it's good to be clear-headed and peaceful. When you really reach the top of the mountain, you will find that "all methods are back to the original, and they are wonderful with fate", and all methods are the same. It should be a compulsory course for everyone to seek peace of mind instead of settling down.
Let's talk about "life".
If a person doesn't believe in life at the age of forty, he is too smart.
Why do you say that? Let's talk about "fate" first.
What is "fate"? This has to start with fate again.
Fate is actually divided into two parts, one is "fate" and the other is "luck".
"Destiny" is the sum of all human backgrounds and objective conditions, which form a secret joint force to promote the development of things, such as human origin, human innate conditions, human intelligence, human parents and family, and so on. For example, if you fell ill after studying crazily before the college entrance examination and finally failed in the college entrance examination, you could have gone to Qingbei, but only to an ordinary university. In fact, if you want to understand it, you will know that it was decided by your weak mind, personality and physical quality at that time. You can't blame anyone for this ending. After all, the past cannot be changed.
Luck is more metaphysical. "Luck" represents people's luck, more strictly speaking, it represents people's smoothness. This is easy to understand but not easy to understand. A good understanding is that most people yearn for good luck, which naturally means that luck is a good thing. It is hard to understand that people often fantasize that there is a pie in the sky, and few people can treat "luck" comprehensively and objectively. "Luck" is actually closely related to probability, and from the law of large numbers, most people have the same degree of luck, and there is no statistical difference. But the strange thing is that luck can be superimposed, and luck can appear at the right time. This is a kind of luck in itself, and a certain amount of luck is used at the critical moment of life. This is called "good luck". For example, high school is not in a hurry to study, and finally will seriously review something. When you finish the college entrance examination, you won't ask a word you haven't reviewed. In the end, you will go to Beijing in the exam, and your teachers, classmates and parents will be shocked. This is called "good luck". "Luck" itself is certain. After all, contingency is equal to everyone, and the key depends on when it appears.
It's easy to compare. Fate is influenced and changed by nature and nurture. "Luck" cannot be changed, it is a completely random and accidental thing. This is why we say "establish destiny", because "destiny" is uncontrollable and unknowable, and "destiny" has innate factors, but it can still be influenced the day after tomorrow.
It can be said that "settling down and settling down" is the basis for the ancient people in China, and "settling down and settling down" is the lifelong pursuit of the ancient people in China. "Lifelong" represents a life goal, that is, based on one's own "destiny" and combined with one's own ambition, one can change one's "destiny" through the acquired effect. "Destiny" is the joint effort of congenital and acquired, so we should stand on it and achieve the function of "settling down".
What is "life"? Someone immediately said that "resolute" means "determined". This sentence is right or wrong. It's too simple to say only superficial things. If it is only a simple identification, then many sages don't have to study one by one. "Stand for life" is an indicator of standing for one's own life and fighting for it, which implies three meanings: one is "knowing life", the other is "obeying life" and the third is "fighting for life". "know life" is to understand and clarify its innate "destiny", which is hard to change, so it is necessary to "leave it to fate". "Obedience" is an objective understanding of the upper and lower limits of personal development under the existing conditions, which is the ultimate destination and outlet of people. The ancients called this "destiny", which was also independent of human will. The Analects of Confucius said that "I don't know my destiny, but I don't think I am a gentleman", and Confucius' "know life obeyed" means that Confucius respected and complied with objective conditions. "Pursuing your own life" is put forward on the basis of "knowing that life is subordinate to your own life", which can best reflect people's subjective initiative. People know their own destiny and conform to the objective destiny, so they will naturally think about reaching or even breaking the upper limit through their own efforts the day after tomorrow. This is called "fighting for your own destiny", and in layman's terms, it means fighting for your own destiny all your life.
Confucianism emphasizes "self-improvement", which is the basis of ancient orthodoxy. The other factions emphasize that they are endogenous, and it is extremely difficult to reach the realm of personal enlightenment. Not many people have been able to do it since ancient times. Confucianism emphasizes individual efforts to strive for self-improvement. As long as we make unremitting efforts and make positive progress, we can finally get closer to the goal of "making a living".
What kind of "destiny" should be "established" is another important topic, which is related to how the individual should go in the future. From the whole picture of life, "making a living" is equivalent to setting the tone for it. This is the freedom of human self, and its root lies in the aforementioned "asylum". "settling down" is the premise of "settling down", that is, building one's own spiritual home and finding one's home, which involves comprehensive and objective introspection. Only under the condition of comprehensive "know life" can we "obey the destiny" and finally achieve "destiny". The two promote each other's development and advance together.
There is no limit to what kind of "destiny" people want to set, but there will be differences between them. The competition here matches the spiritual realm. For example, if a person is born with the "life" of eating and sleeping well, it is easy to achieve, and he has achieved his "life". However, if someone takes the happiness of the whole world as his own responsibility, he will worry about the world first and enjoy it later, and his realm will be much higher. He may be unable to achieve such a "life" all his life. Everyone has his own "destiny". We often say that Confucianism joined the WTO because it stresses "helping the world" and is a saint for others.
