2. Inner Mongolia University, referred to as Neida for short, is one of the 88 national key universities identified by the State Council 1978, one of the national 15 famous universities included in The Concise Encyclopedia Britannica, and one of the first national key universities of "2 1 1 Project". Inner Mongolia University, founded in 1957, is the earliest comprehensive university established in minority areas after the founding of New China, which occupies an important position in the layout of higher education in China and has a special regional orientation. In 2004, it became a key university of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and Ministry of Education, and in 20 12, it was selected as the first batch of national "Comprehensive Strength Improvement Project of Universities in the Midwest".
