In June 2006, the School of Foreign Languages of Harbin Institute of Technology was established. The School of Foreign Languages of Harbin Institute of Technology now has 10 departments, including English Department, Russian Department, Japanese Department, English Teaching Department of the First University, English Teaching Department of the Second University, English Teaching Department of the Third University, Training Center, Multimedia Teaching and Research Center and College Office. The Institute of Foreign Languages has a first-class discipline of foreign languages and literature, including the Institute of Language and Culture and the Canadian Institute. The college offers three undergraduate majors in English, Russian and Japanese, three master's degree authorization points in foreign linguistics and applied linguistics, English language and literature and Russian language and literature, and eight research directions, which has a good learning atmosphere and research conditions. The college adheres to the goal of "cultivating high-quality compound innovative talents with excellent moral quality, profound cultural heritage, broad international vision and cross-cultural communication ability" to adapt to the times and social development.
