Southwest University, located in Beibei District of Chongqing, is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and Chongqing Municipality. It ranks among the member universities of the national "double first-class", "21engineering", "985 engineering advantage discipline innovation platform" and "double first-class" agricultural alliance. Selected as "11plan", "201/plan" and "Hundred Schools Project". The school can be traced back to East Sichuan Normal School as early as 1906, and 1936 was renamed Sichuan Institute of Education. 1950 Sichuan Institute of Education and National Women's Teachers College merged to form Southwest Teachers College.
