Effects and characteristics of the third national college students' art exhibition.
This exhibition lasted more than a year and showed three characteristics.

First, colleges and universities across the country take the opportunity of holding art exhibitions and consciously shoulder the responsibility of vigorously promoting cultural inheritance and innovation. Colleges and universities should seriously study General Secretary Hu Jintao's speech at the centennial celebration meeting in Tsinghua University, deeply understand the spirit of "to improve the quality of higher education in an all-round way, we must vigorously promote cultural inheritance and innovation", take art education and art practice as carriers, inherit the excellent culture of the Chinese nation, absorb the achievements of world human civilization, give full play to the educational role of culture, cultivate cultural consciousness and self-confidence, and promote the construction of advanced socialist culture.

The second is the combination of popularization and improvement, and the level of activities is constantly improving. Colleges and universities, with departments as the unit and student art associations as the backbone, mobilize students to participate extensively, and strive to make every student have the opportunity to participate in at least one art activity by holding art lectures, cultural performances, concerts, art exhibitions and organizing professional performance groups to perform in schools. Various places have organized art exhibitions, art works exhibitions and concentrated exhibitions of art education papers, and the level of each project has improved compared with the previous one.

Third, university presidents actively participate in and practice. Principals have signed up to participate in the aesthetic education forum of university presidents, and some have personally written articles to participate in the report meeting of art education research papers. The organizing committee * * * received more than 700 pictures of calligraphy and painting submitted by principals. They describe the mountains and rivers of the motherland, record campus life, reflect the new look of the times, spread cultural classics, show their elegant aesthetic pursuit, excellent artistic accomplishment, full cultural consciousness and self-confidence, and play a positive leading role in aesthetic education in colleges and universities.
