Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine was founded in 1954, 10, 15. Formerly known as Jiangsu Traditional Chinese Medicine School, it was later expanded to Nanjing College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. On 1995, it was officially renamed Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine with the approval of the Ministry of Education. It has developed for half a century and is one of the earliest institutions of higher learning in China. At the beginning of the school, the school actively excavated, sorted out and compiled the first set of teaching materials and syllabus for higher Chinese medicine education in New China, trained and transported the first batch of teachers represented by Tung Chee-hwa and Cheng Shennong, and received and trained the first batch of foreign Chinese medicine students, in order to implement the idea that "Chinese medicine is a great treasure house, which should be explored and improved" put forward by Comrade Mao Zedong and the national health policy at that time. Cheng Dan 'an and Ye Juquan, the earliest academic department members in the field of traditional Chinese medicine in New China, were born, which made important contributions to the establishment and popularization of modern higher Chinese medicine education model in New China, and were known as the "cradle of higher Chinese medicine education". The school is located in Nanjing, an ancient capital with a long history, beautiful scenery and rich humanities. It has two campuses, namely Hanzhong Gate and Xianlin. The school now has 12 directly affiliated colleges (departments) such as Basic Medical College, Pharmacy College, First Clinical Medical College, Second Clinical Medical College, School of Economic and Trade Management, School of Nursing, School of Foreign Languages, School of Information Technology, Higher Vocational and Technical College, Department of Psychology, Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, College of Adult Education, and International Education College (Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Training Center). There are 3 post-doctoral research stations, 22 doctoral programs and 29 master programs, covering two disciplines: traditional Chinese medicine, traditional Chinese medicine and integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine, and initially forming a multidisciplinary support with traditional Chinese medicine as the main body and integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine. Twenty-seven provincial-level top-quality courses, such as internal medicine of traditional Chinese medicine and surgery of traditional Chinese medicine, have been built, and febrile diseases of traditional Chinese medicine and pediatrics have been included in the national top-quality courses. Journal of Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine is an international continuous publication, a statistical source publication of scientific papers in China, a core journal of science and technology in China, a core journal of medicine in China, an excellent journal in Jiangsu Province and a first-class journal in Jiangsu Province. The school library is a sub-center of China Traditional Chinese Medicine Literature Retrieval Center. The Chinese Materia Medica, which was edited by the school and served as the general review, is a systematic summary of the development achievements of traditional Chinese medicine for thousands of years, and was praised by Comrade Li Peng as the "Compendium of Contemporary Materia Medica". In recent years, a large number of scientific and technological achievements in our school have been transformed into real productive forces, which have made important contributions to the national and local economic development and have been fully affirmed by the party and state, relevant ministries and provincial leaders who visited our school. Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine has a rigorous scholarship and a strong academic atmosphere. Over the past half century, famous experts have gathered together and talented people have emerged in large numbers, and groups of experts, scholars and professors who are well-known at home and abroad have emerged. As a generation of experts in Confucian medicine and higher Chinese medicine education, it has been passed down from generation to generation, and the gathering of famous teachers has become a reality. In recent years, many teachers in our school have been awarded many national honorary titles, such as "national famous teacher in teaching", "national model teacher", "national advanced worker", "national advanced individual in morality" and "national young and middle-aged expert with outstanding contributions". Many teachers have been listed as the "100 million" talent project training targets of the Ministry of Personnel, and 45 people have enjoyed special government allowances. The school is also the traditional medicine cooperation center of the World Health Organization (WHO); It is an international acupuncture training center designated by the Ministry of Health, a national continuing education base for Chinese medicine teachers, a clinical pharmacology base and a sub-center of China Chinese medicine literature retrieval center.
