Brief introduction of Peking University West Gate
Before 1952, Peking University and yenching university merged into the new Peking University, the west gate of Peking University was the main entrance of yenching university. It was built by yenching university alumni in 1926, so it is also called Alumni Gate.
The west gate faces east and west. It is a classical three-opening red painted palace gate building, only seven or eight meters high. Its style is simple, solemn and elegant, similar to the East Palace Gate of the Summer Palace, with a strong national style. There are two stone lions on both sides of the school gate.

Peking University was founded at the time of 1898 reform and restructuring, formerly known as Shi Jing University Hall.
