What does the asterisk in the professional catalogue of Nankai University mean?
The asterisks in NTU postgraduate enrollment professional catalogue are self-established majors, and the triangles are doctoral degree-granting majors.

Postgraduates are divided into first-level disciplines and two disciplines, and two disciplines marked with an asterisk is set for the school.

In other words, this major originally belonged to the first-class discipline, but in order to expand enrollment, the school set up two disciplines by itself.

For example, engineering management major belongs to management science and engineering major, which is a first-class discipline. But if the school lists the project management separately, it must be marked with an asterisk.

Don't care too much about this, it doesn't matter.
