China Communication University School of Broadcasting and Hosting Art was founded in 1996, formerly known as the Broadcasting Department of Beijing Broadcasting Institute. 1963, Beijing Broadcasting Institute officially opened the Chinese broadcasting major. The Academy of Broadcasting and Hosting Art is the earliest educational base in China to train broadcasting and hosting professionals, and it is also the research base of radio and television language communication in China.

In 2005, China Broadcasting was separated from linguistics and applied linguistics.
