At present, Taiyuan University of Science and Technology has three campuses: main campus, south campus and Jincheng campus, and has an independent college-Taiyuan University of Science and Technology, China Academy of Sciences. Jincheng Campus is basically the second batch of undergraduate enrollment at present.
Taiyuan University of Science and Technology, located in Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province, is the first undergraduate college of heavy machinery in People's Republic of China (PRC), an important talent training and R&D base in major technical equipment fields in China, and a member of CDIO Engineering Education Alliance. It was selected as the basic capacity building project of universities in the central and western regions of the Ministry of Education, the first batch of new engineering research and practice projects of the Ministry of Education, and the key universities supported by "13 1 project" in Shanxi Province.
The school was founded in 1952 with a history of 68 years. At present, it has developed into a teaching and research university with multi-level education for undergraduate, master and doctoral students, featuring the mainstream discipline of equipment manufacturing and supporting nine disciplines of science, engineering, philosophy, law, literature, economics, management, art and teaching.
